Leopard print is classic. While it pairs well with everything, it especially fits with Yves Saint Laurent’s curated maximalism. It is no surprise then that YSL has a plethora of incredible leopard scarves and accessories. In fact, legend has it that one woman designed all of YSL’s leopard prints. In particular, YSL’s 1986 FW and 2002 SS (by Tom Ford) Collections heavily feature leopard as a thematic string.
Here, Pat Cleveland shows how a scarf can make the whole outfit from this YSL runway look. YSL Muse and actress Catherine Deneuve sports leopard many times with perennial French flair. Monsieur Saint Laurent has a history of championing the inclusion of Black models on his runway, including the stunning Amalia Vairelli, who still models today. Vairelli dons a leopard outfit with ease, proving the print makes a statement effortlessly. Whether its the finishing touches or the statement piece, leopard is playful but also chic, which has made it such a lasting part of Yves Saint Laurent's collections.
